trumps health

trumps health

jill stein was on a podcastwith glenn thrush and she talked about major figures in thecandidacy for president, as well as, you know, vladimir putin. you know, normal chitchat. here is what she said aboutdonald trump. you have done diagnoses, doyou see him -- what would your clinical opinion be of what youseen of him in public? you have any clinical opinion of him?

i don't pretend to to be ableto do a tv diagnosis, but i think the guy has a problem. theguy has a lot of problems. physical, mental, emotional, cognitive. he comes with a whole lot ofbaggage and i think it's pretty obvious. okay. not arguing that point. i like very much the item wantto give a tv diagnosis --

but i will. we should remind everybody, doctor jill stein. and that was the end of herinterview on the podcast with glenn thrush, i guess. it wasn't, there was more. additionally, she contrasted hillary clinton to donald trump, maybe implying hillary clinton might be the worse of two evils. do you view a trump presidencyis a potential purgative,

something that clears the nets? or what would you view a trump presidency as? you've also outlined aconvincing case against a clinton presidency. to me one is death by gunshot, theother is death by regulation. either is acceptable. describe the strangulation orthe gunshot. i'm not sure which is which.

put it this way, under donald trump we seen the foundation ofthe republican party move into the democratic party. for donaldtrump i think will have a lot of trouble moving things throughcongress. hillary clinton, on the other hand, won't. i think you're absolutelyright, by the way. hillary can do more damage, get us into more wars, faster,

to pass her fracking disastrousclimate program much more readily than donald trump coulddo his. i think it's arguable about which one could end upbeing more harmful. is that true? no, it's not. it's to do with theenvironment and fracking and everything else. donald trumpdoes not believe climate change

is happening, he said he wouldget rid of the epa and pollution standards, we would spend fouryears pouring in more carbon to the atmosphere, at that point itwill be harder to clawback. hillary clinton at leastacknowledges climate change is happening, we can beat herover the head with it to form a national mobilization. and if donald trump wins thepresidency, we can infer that that means that republicans holdthe senate and keep the house of representatives, which means theexact opposite of what jill

stein just said. it means donaldtrump will have a congress that wants to do and undo as much asbarack obama's legacy as president, not to mentionsupreme court justices, he will be able to push through anyonehe wants, and the people he will get counsel from his people likemitch mcconnell who will say this justice will pass, he andhis leave administration will say we will give you that so itwill pass. it is so untruthful

about jill stein, who got .36%of the vote in 2012, and the greens dominated her again, it'sso disingenuous to say there is no difference between these two,it's strangulation or gunshot. and it's taking advantage ofpeople who don't feel effective in the political system, it'sthe same tactic tobacco companies used in the 1950s. tobacco companies said maybe it causes cancer, maybe it doesn't,who knows. in the meantime keep

smoking because we aren't sure. and she is relying on people not being able to make a decisionand saying they are both horrible, as if there is nodifference. it's inconceivable that in this day and age in apartisan world that any democrat and any republican would have nodifference. if john kasich was the nominee we would be havingdifferent conversations because

john kasich would not run therisk of running the country off the cliff, he's not anauthoritarian. i don't know why people think there will be thisgiant standup moment in america where the right minded peoplesay no to donald trump after electing him president. the timeto stand up to the top is right now, not in january. right goddamn now.

and if you cast a vote forjill stein on november 8, you are essentially staying i wouldlike donald trump to be president. that's all you are saying. that's right. and what giantsort of authoritarian men have taken control of the country andthen quickly ceded power? that's generally not what they do. andhow many elections have we had

since 1932 where an incumbenthas not been reelected? twice. one in 1976, one in 1980. one in1992. that's it. you think there will be this progressive wave in2018 -- have you looked at who is up for the senate? thedemocrats are almost sure to

lose seats in 2018 due to thetilted map they are facing then. so donald trump will be electedpresident, he is likely to have the senate with him if he wins, and he's certain to have the house with him. he will controlboth houses, and they will stand up to him a little, but thenotion that somehow hillary, because she doesn't embraceclimate change to the extent that jill stein does -- an issuewe are all closer to jill stein on the hillary clinton -- butthe notion that somehow what she

passes will be worse than whatdonald trump will get through? that's insane, that meanseverybody taking their kids -- is she a pediatrician? internist. everyone taking their parentsto see jill stein, that's a crazy bit of logic. there arereasons not to elect hillary clinton president in theabstract. those reasons, i

expect the person runningagainst her to use. too closely tied to wall street, showed alack of political courage at the most important moment in herpolitical career in the iraq war. you don't trust herinstinctively because they are opaque and celebrate their lackof transparency. those are really good, compelling reasonsnot to vote for hillary clinton

in the primary, or i would argueif the republicans had gone off the deep end and nominated anauthoritarian madman. but not now. and again, the notion thatwe will band together after trump is elected and stop himand turn the tables and 2018 -- the time to stop him is rightnow for the next 45 days. tell your friends and neighbors, doall you can, and as bernie sanders said, a guy who for notone second acted like a regular

politician, who seemed morehonest and trustworthy than anyone we've seen in thepolitical process in my lifetime, he says to vote forhillary clinton. if you can't follow that guy's lead, i don'tknow what you are waiting for, i don't know what moment or leaderyou are waiting for. you have a leader in the progressivemovement, his name is bernie sanders, he is unequivocal inwhat you should do in november

8. do it, tell your friends, anduse whatever forum you have to your audience and tell them todo the same thing, and then i swear to god i'm with you, ifhillary clinton fails to deliver on the things we have a sneakingsuspicion she will fail to deliver on, run someone againsther in 2020 from the left. but mostly worked to force thedemocratic party to adhere to that progressive platform theypassed in july and try to make

that happen, and use the poweryou guys have to push her to the left. the power. it's unprecedentedthat so many newer voters, so many younger voters, so manypeople new to the process have this much influence right now. i can't remember a time, maybein the vietnam war. your vote could possibly nevercount more than this year, your vote couldn't count more, youcan make a difference even if it

is not someone you are excitedabout. you can make a difference to stop a divisive, racist, bigoted madman from becoming you will never havemore power. embrace it and use it.
