trump's views on healthcare

trump's views on healthcare

>>well, elections haveconsequences. we got a new appointment for health and humanservices, tom price. a republican from georgia, he isalso -- >>the house republican studycommittee, that is let's just say extremely conservative houserepublicans. [buffering] >>he said maybe he's not goingto get rid of obamacare, now

he's talking about the parisaccords, he might not get rid of those -- no, you can tell by hisactions, not his words. donald trump changes his words everyday. barack, you are the last guy in the room, i'll keep someof your stuff, don't sweat it. then some insane conservativecomes in and says pick this guy who will destroy obamacare. sure, i'll put him in.

now representative price will be thesecretary of health and human services. what does he believe? to give him credit, he's one of the few republicans who has comeup with a proposal to replace obamacare. normally they save repeal andreplace, but don't come up with an alternative.

to be fair to representativeprice, he did. so let's find out about it -- >>oops. so obamacare, it wasnice knowing you. i know it seems unbelievable -- trumpbeing president seems unbelievable. obamacare, into the wind. their goals are broader thanthat, but first let me

finish off what hethinks about obamacare. he says -- >>-- they are not keepinganything if this guy gets his way -- >>the same silly establishmentfolks in washington were like, no, they won't be able to getrid of pre-existing conditions. that clause is popular inamerica, republicans wouldn't do that. then why did they justnominate this guy to be head of

this department? it's not anaccident. they are not like, he wants to get rid of all ofobamacare? golly gee. that was the intent, they are going togut it. but they aren't just done there, he wants to gofurther and attack the core of

medicaid -- >>this is a very transparenttrick. medicaid, the way it used to be run and is enormouslypopular in america, the third most popular program aftersocial security and medicare -- no, we are not going to do thatanymore. we are going to shrink it, give it to states, conservative states will throw it in the garbage, it won'texist for most of the country,

and whatever ones we are stillpaying out, we will pay a lot less. you see how we arereforming medicaid? no, they are here to destroy medicaid. againsome idiots in washington think that might be his cabinet pickbut donald trump might not let him do that. really?

let's go totrump's position on this -- >>flexibility over medicaid tothe states is block grants. there goes medicaid. and he'snot even considering modernizing medicare. this is the one issuewhere the democrats will fight, and even chuck schumer issaying no, not on our watch. and i'll give him credit forthis. >>so what that says to me is, weare done with obamacare, but

democrats will draw the line oni think medicaid and definitely on medicare. they think thosewill be unpopular provisions, and republicans might get a lotof their way but it will cost them politically. that might bea fair calculation and that might be how it will play out,but in the meanwhile they will gut these programs. representative tom price is

known for wanting to evisceratethem, now he's in charge. elections do have consequences. >>young turks.
